History of the origin of Shakya dynasty

Due to the excessive amount of 'saak' or teak trees people living here are said to be Shakya. Sakya (Shakya) word has originated from teak or (saagvan). Due to the abundance of the Saak tree, the people living here are called Shakya.
The word sakiya is also mentioned in the inscriptions of Emperor Ashoka, in which he himself describes Sakiya Kul.


Sak-Sakya (Shakya) This region is called the Shakya Republic because of the abundance of Saak trees, Or you may say the people living in the Saak forest, called Shakya and the whole region of Saak forest is called the Republic of Shakya

In Nepal  northern India adjacent to Nepal, the abundance of these trees is still found. There is still Sak Forest in Nepal, which is called Sakuva forest in typical language of Nepal.In this way, this region came to be known as the Shakya Republic. When Shakya expanded, he established a capital named Kapilavastu.


And later this lineage was called the greatest dynasty of the world. The second branch of this dynasty, Maurya Dynasty, later won the title of Vishwajej.



During the invasion of Vidudbhav, the people of the royal family began to take various livelihoods in various states.

Eg: Farming of flowers,farming of fruits,Vegetable cultivation and Gardening.
In the earliest times, they came to be known by the names of the Sainis, Mali, Kushwaha, Koiri, Kachhi, Murao, Mahto etc. among the sub-castes.




Shakya district of ancient India

Shakya was a district of ancient India in the 1st century BC. According to Buddhist texts Shakya (Sakya in Sanskrit, Shak in Devnagari, Sakya in Pali Language also) is an ancient Hindu Suryavanshi Kshatriya dynasty. The tribe of Sakya caste is Gautama, which is a Brahmin caste.


Shakya clan is one of the many Hindu Kshatriya dynasties ruling the South Asia region during the ancient and medieval period. There was an ancient kingdom in the valley of Himalayas, whose capital was Kapilavastu, which is now in Nepal. Shakyamuni Buddha, i.e. Gautam Buddha, come in the most famous Shakya.



They were from a dynasty of Lumbini and they are known by names like Shakyamuni,Sakmuni in Pali language, etc.After the Massacre of Shakya in Kapilavastu, the Shakya people which had survived,had to hidden in the hillside located in the north of Kapilvastu.



In the hills, in Sankhu (Shankhpur) of Kathmandu, in the time of the King Jitedasti,Shakya came to know about a Warkabas Vihar built by Buddhist monk.After this, people of Shakya dynasty took shelter in the vihar.From there Shakya people rebuilt the association and constructed various vihars.




Along with the passing of time over 500 Buddhist Vihar and study centers were built in Nepal.The Buddhist sect created by this ritual is called Navar Buddhist community.More than 100 Bihar is still alive in this sect of Nepal.Apart from all the living Buddhist sects, the religious language of this sect is Pali which is different than other sect.



All the texts and works are done by the mantra and formula of Pali. Many texts written in the Universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila (which have just disappeared in India), such as Pragyaparmita, Pali Tripitak etc. are alive in this community.



World Guru Gautam Budh was the son of Shuddhodan Shakya, the ruler of the Republic of Shakya. A branch of Shakya dynasty who started living in Paplivan forest, which later became famous as Maurya.This dynasty had two great rulers Chakravarti Samrat, the creator of Akhand Bharat, the nationalist Chandragupta Maurya and Ashok Mahan, the greatest ruler of the world, who has given the message of Dhamma, Morality, Virtue in the whole world.By whom India has got new identity in the world.

Most people of Shakya live in India (Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan), Nepal, Tibet, Sri Lanka and Myanmar (Burma). A very small number of Shakya sects have also been living in China, Japan and Vietnam since ancient times.



Shakya Dynasty established its rule in different parts of South Asia, at different times and with various names. for example:


(1.) The Republic of Shakya (1500-500 BC):

Rule in North India and Nepal. Notable rulers were king Shuddhodan,prince Siddhartha and king Rahul. Prince Siddhartha Shakya left royal pleasure and established a new religion. This religion was known as Buddha religion and Siddharth Shakya was known as Lord Gautam Buddha.

(2.) Maurya Empire (322 - 185 BC):

Governed in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and some southern parts of  China. Notable rulers include Chandragupta Maurya, and the most famous ruler Emperor Ashoka.

(3.) Burmese monarchy (800 BCE):

Ruled in Myanmar (Burma). Emperor Abhiraj Shakya was among the prominent rulers.

(4) Sinhala's Empire / Anuradhapura State (437-1017 BC):

Ruled in Sri Lanka.Maharaj Pandukhabhya was one of in notable ruler.
